Kidney Cysts

Kidney cysts are pockets of fluid, which form in the kidney. Kidney cysts are common. The vast majority of cysts are benign and are referred to as simple cysts. Occasionally a cyst can have a more complex appearance on scans and needs to be distinguished from kidney cancer. If there is uncertainty about the nature of a cyst follow up scans may be performed to see if the cyst is changing.
